MAS, the modular training system
Project objectives:
The objective of this project was to qualify the participants in order to facilitate their entrance to the labour market.
Target group:
The project was focused on people who require specialized knowledge of IT-tools and IT-updates, who see their future job in information and communication technologies, or who have a technical and commercial education or job experience in this sector.
Project implementation:
For more than ten years, bit schulungscenter has been offering by order of the Labour Market Service Styria, Lower Austria, Vienna, Upper Austria, Tyrol, Salzburg and Carinthia, training in the field of IT, as well as commercial topics (the described project is only one of a number of projects that have been implemented since 1989). One of these training measures is the MAS (modular training system), where more than 300 participants per cycle (cycle time: 1 year) gain qualifications in:

- Multimedia
- Software-development
- WEB
- Network and systems engineering
- Marketing
- Project management
- Technical sales
- EU-Assistance
- EBDL (European Business Driving License)
- Individually planned courses
In the course of information days, personal interviews and assessments, bit schulungscenter selected the participants and found out which trainings were suitable for the interested participants. In this clearing phase, not only were training wishes or needs discussed, but also specific career aspirations and the possible directions analysed. Together with the interested persons, child care amenities and facilities were identified, other problems resolved and personal training plans were developed.
Due to its many years of experience with job-seeking people, bit schulungscenter also was able to offer social-pedagogic support. Its’ highly qualified team of trainers was able to offer coaching not only within the professional field, but also in social matters. Furthermore,
bit schulungscenter appointed a lot of female trainers to offer our female participants mentors and female “models”. Our intention thereby was to strengthen their self-confidence – particularly with regard to technical IT and possible entrepreneurship.
Project results:
Projects based on the idea of modular training are have been carried out by bit schulungscenter for more then ten years now. The methodologies have been adapted and have advanced during this period. As a result of the great success of the project, it is being extended until March 2009.
